The Edinburgh University Oncology Society (EUOS) is a student-led society with the Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA).

We want to create opportunities for students who are interested in cancer biology or oncology to learn from experts and other students, and to network and socialise with people with similar interests.

In 2018, EUOS President and Vice-President Vishwani Chauhan and Ryan Devlin created this magazine for our supporters and members to have the opportunity to contribute and learn from one another. Our magazine hosts articles featuring reviews or opinions on advances in cancer research, as well as experiential or advice articles to shed light on student experiences.

Currently lead by TNM Magazine Editor Isabel Mason and EUOS President Ryan Devlin, we hope to spark conversation, augment learning, and provide guidance through this literature.

If you would like to follow EUOS' events  and activities outside of our magazine, check out our Facebook page and website . Contact us on our email or through Facebook message. Subscribe to our mailing list to stay updated!

Isabel Mason

Hi, I’m Isabel from York in the north of England. What I find so interesting about oncology is how relevant it is no matter what part of medicine or science you are involved in. I am particularly interested in the potential of gene editing and more personalised approaches to treatment. When I’m not editing the oncology magazine I’m probably playing badminton, fundraising with EUBBT and finding as many reasons as I can to procrastinate from studying.

Vishwani Chauhan

EUOS President, 2018-19

After growing up in Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, I moved to Edinburgh in 2016 for university. My interest in cancer comes from shadowing a medical oncologist when I was in high-school, and being fascinated by his clinical as well as scientific work in immunotherapy. Oncology is one of those fields where clinical work meets scientific enquiry, and then everything converges at the patient, the people close to them, and their challenging narrative. That’s what makes the field so inspiring.
